What's the story?

TrAC has been named ‘Apprenticeship Scheme of the Year’ at the Construction Investing in Talent Awards (CITA) 2017.

The Construction News Awards which were hosted by comedian Simon Evans took place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London last night (15/11/2017) to recognise the significant role HR, recruitment and operations teams perform to develop, attract and retain talent in the industry.

Kerry Linley, Head of Operations for TrAC said:

“I don’t think we realised just how much we would benefit from employing apprentices – it can be extremely hard work but is incredibly rewarding.  Since taking on our first apprentice in December 2012, TrAC and the team of people who help to manage and support trade and technical apprentices on a wide range of construction projects have worked tirelessly to ensure the best possible outcomes.  This effort underpins our success and has helped us to achieve 100% into employment on completion for our apprentices.  We’ve been part of some incredible apprentice journeys and don’t believe our role ends when the day does. Earlier this year we were named a Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer and last month we celebrated having a highly commended apprentice in the Young Builder of the Year Awards for the 2nd year running.  It's such a privilege to be helping to build the future for the next generation of talented young people who will drive this industry forward.

Would would like to give thanks for this award and dedicate it to our members and partners, CITB, our board of industry directors who volunteer their time, the contractors we work with and most importantly, our TrAC-tastic apprentices.
