Construction
& the Built Environment

We employ apprentices across all areas of the built environment and allied trades and provide them with a mix of placements on a number of different construction sites.

There are over180 different careers in the built environment and we work with only the best apprenticeship providers to deliver apprentice training across the East and South East of England and the East Midlands.

TrAC apprentices are fully supported by a dedicated apprentice manager who is on hand to help every step of the way and our state of the art apprentice management software and smartphone apps ensure apprentices can get the help when and where its needed.

100% of the apprentices who have completed their apprenticeship with us have progressed into work or further training.

We provide contractors with a way to sustainably deliver apprenticeship outcomes.

It can be difficult to provide opportunities to apprentices on short term projects or where a contractor is working away from their normal location.

The TrAC flexible apprentice solution provides local apprentices with an opportunity to work on contractor sites with the entire construction supply chain for fixed placement periods.

TrAC finds, recruits, manages and supports apprentices, negotiates the cost of and organises all training and end point assessment.  TrAC apprentices are fully supported and managed by experienced apprentice managers which in turn delivers improved apprentice motivation, retention, completion and into employment outcomes.

Let TrAC provide and support apprentices on your projects, allowing you to get on with what you do best.

TrAC works with a wide range of construction clients from Local Authorities to Housing Associations and Universities, to name a few.

Working with TrAC, construction clients can consider and encourage or even mandate the delivery of apprenticeships through the procurement of construction projects, safe in the knowledge that the apprenticeships will be sustainable and support the local economy.

TrAC has helped a number of construction clients to embed Employment & Skills plans in to the tendering process.  By enabling framework contractors to support more apprentices on their projects TrAC actively supports framework management activities and the service has enabled more contractors to bid for work who could not otherwise support apprenticeship targets.

Local Authorities within TrAC’s operational geography can participate in TrAC’s Local Authority Steering Board which has representation on the TrAC Board, and can therefore guide and support its activities.

TrAC apprentices generally live locally to the projects they work on which in turn helps to ensure local people and local businesses benefit from local construction work.  By using the TrAC shared apprentice solution, contractors no longer need to be able to commit to the full 2 or 3 year duration typically required to complete an apprenticeship.

TrAC has better than industry average retention and completion rates which is great news for training providers.

TrAC provides bespoke support to every apprentice and focuses heavily on attendance at site and for off the job training, something which we know can be an issue.  Our timesheet and attendance records enable us to proactively manage attendance issues in real time.  Our apprentice management team works closely with training providers and contractors to ensure the apprentice is given the right experience on site and at college, and every opportunity to complete their apprenticeship to the highest standard.  Training providers will have access to our state of the art apprentice management system providing real time information and ensuring effective communication at all stages of the apprentice journey.

Our Apprenticeship Development Managers complete 12 weekly reviews with all our apprentices and training providers are invited to participate in these.

We often attend school events to promote the exciting range of construction careers.

Our Apprentice Managers and Apprenticeship Mentors are only too pleased to support young people who are seeking to transition from school or college to an Apprenticeship in the Built Environment

As well as being able to support your careers events, we can provide your students with practice interview sessions, CV writing workshops or give a talk on employability skills and the sorts of things that will make one job applicant stand out from the rest.
