What will the apprentice be doing on site
Working on a major contractor's site, we have an opportunity for an apprentice to undertake a level 2 Interior Systems Installer qualification, focusing on drylining. Drylining is a process of concealing electrics, insulating and providing insulation and acoustics to a room or area.
As a drylining apprentice, the successful candidate will be involved with:
Reading drawings and diagrams.
Metal stud partitioning.
Tacking , taping & Jointing,
The makeup and structure of internal walls.
Cutting and measuring sizes and angles of plasterboard.
Plasterboard fixing to timber and metal frame.
Walls finishes including joints seals and taping.
Application of skim and sanding to perfect finish.
Complete quality assurance checks.
General construction site Health and safety.
£339.75 per week
Are there restrictions
The successful applicant will need to have passed the CSCS operative test. TrAC will purchase the relevant card for the successful applicant.
Applicants must be aged 18+ due to the working time directive.
Because of Section 106 requirements, applicants must be residents of Stevenage.
Essential qualities
Applicants must be able to cope with the physical side of the role enough to engage in manual labour. They need to have both communication and organisation skills whilst being able to work as part of a team or on their own.
Desirable qualities
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to undertake a trade apprenticeship in Drylining and ultimately gain an apprenticeship in the trade. The prospective candidate needs to be enthusiastic, punctual, able to take instructions, and reliable.
Qualifications Required
Maths & English GCSE Grade 3 or above or equivalent
